Ahrefs SEO Toolbar

Monitor key SEO metrics for individual pages and domains. Ahrefs SEO Toolbar lets you immediately assess Ahrefs rank and Ahrefs domain rank, number of backlinks and referring domains, as well as some social metrics. All features are free, but Ahrefs’ subscription will let you drill deeper into details, right from Toolbar.

META SEO inspector

Great if you want to quickly check page data not usually visible in your browser, such as a page’s meta description and page title, robots or canonical tags. It also has a link to a host of online tools for social and SEO analysis.

ColorZilla

ColorZilla allows you to get a colour reading from any point in your browser, quickly adjust that colour and paste it into another program.

Web Developer

The Web Developer extension adds various web developer tools to a browser, such as the ability to disable CSS and JavaScript and highlight heading types.

Tag Assistant (by Google)

Google Chrome Developer Tools

Chorme Developer Tools is part of Chrome as standard. It doesn’t require a plugin and is a great way to delve deep into the code of a website. To get started, simply open a web page, in Google Chrome, then:

  1. Select the Page menu at the top-right of your browser window, then select Developer -> Developer Tools or Control-Shift-J keys in Windows and Linux.
  1. You can also right-click on any page element and select ‘Inspect element’, to get inspect specific parts of a site
